Thanks everyone for coming to crew on Sunday! The set looks great and after several attempts, blood, sweat, tears and hair falling out — we actually have a garage door that works! Thanks all for staying so late and getting it all done!

And don't forget about Gab Bonesso, alumni comedienne and radio personality, performing on our stage. Spread the word — the show is free to all Duquesne students and I am really hoping for a packed house! The show also features Jay Keenan as the voice of a plastic, blow-up shark! Absurdity abounds — please all come!

Carbomb

Three cousins. One prime minister. Fifty pounds of C-4.
Family reunions were never so explosive.

Three cousins meet in an abandoned warehouse at midnight. Their mission: to blow up the Prime Minister of Britain. But why now, when the Irish economy is soaring? Why re-open the old political wounds that have festered for so long?

Presented by the Duquesne University Red Masquers, Carbomb is a tragicomic new play about family, loyalty, patriotism, and cosmopolitan 21st Century Ireland. Playwright Robert Isenberg offers a personal vision of terrorism - both its mad inspiration and the victims of violence - inspired by first-hand research in the Republic of Ireland. This all-student production showcases the undergraduate talents of Duquesne's theater program and is directed by John E. Lane, Jr.

Spring Semester Auditions

Auditions for our first two shows of the spring semester will be at the beginning of December. George Bernard Shaw's Simpleton of the Unexpected Isles will run from February 12-21 and the world premiere of Robert Isenberg's Carbomb will run from April 16-25. (Those dates are easy to remember because the first are palindromes and the second are squares!) Being December on the Bluff, auditions will be cold readings. Since both shows use accents, brush up on your British and Irish accents if you wish, old chaps! Tell EVERYONE you know who might have the slightest inkling to audition, because this and One Acts for Charity appear to be it for the semester. Flyers and handbills will be appearing in the not-so-distant future. In a nutshell:
