Annual Christmas Party
Keep your schedules open on December 11th!
We
will not only be presenting the Directing Showcase, but we will be hosting our annual
Christmas Party immediately following the showcase.
The show will run somewhere
between 2 hours and 2 1/2 hours, so the party should start around 8:30pm
and will be in the theater. This year we will be watching Holiday Inn.
There will also be a White Elephant gift exchange if you wish to
participate. A White Elephant is when you bring the weirdest object you
have that you no longer want all wrapped up as a beautiful present and
everyone picks their present. It's pretty fun to see what crazy stuff
people have.
To make this as fun as possible
(because food makes everything fun), feel free to bring a bag of chips,
some cookies, or your favorite holiday treat to share with everyone.
If you have any questions, contact us at redmasquers@duq.edu

Auditions for Premieres XXXVII
We will be holding auditions for our next show, Premeires XXXVII, at the end of this month.
Premieres is a long running Red Masquers tradition, celebrating its 37th season this year. We select several one-act plays written by students, alumni, or faculty, and from there, all of the work is done by us students! All of the directors, actors, crew - even our producer - are students, and all of the shows are world premieres.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
Wednesday, October 30th from 3-6pm
Thursday, October 31st from 4:30-7pm
The auditions will be in the Red Masquers office - Room 101 of the Union. It's on the bottom floor by the stairwell.
You do not need to bring anything or prepare anything for this audition. Sides from the scripts will be provided when you arrive, and you will have a few minutes to look over them before you audition.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Marsha Mayhak at mayhakm@duq.edu.

NEEDED: Volunteers for Autumnfest
The Red Masquers will have a table at Autumnfest again this year, and we need volunteers to work the event.
Autumnfest is an awesome event over homecoming weekend where almost every organization across campus sets up and sells delicious food to raise money for their associated charity or for their organization. It's right around the time of the football game, so A-Walk is full of excited students and alumni.
To help with this event, all you have to to is come sit at the
table for as little or as long as you want; you don't have to be there
the whole time. You will be selling our treats and promoting the
Masquers - especially 3Penny since there will be a performance that

Princes and Princesses Needed for the Masquer-aid!
Duquesne's campus will soon have royalty roaming about, and by royalty, I mean YOU!
The Red Masquers will be hosting a fundraiser event to benefit Gemini
Children's Theater. It will be an event of truly royal proportions.
Gemini is known for it's delightful plays that let children escape into
the world of fantasy and magic, and this event will do exactly the same.
So
where do you come in? We need excited volunteers to dress up as princes
and princesses who will mingle with the children and even be part of a
dance party!
When: October 25th, 6:15-9pm, Participants will be called at 5:30
They need to know as soon as possible, so if you're interested, do not hesitate!
IF INTERESTED, CONTACT MARSHA MAYHAK AT MAYHAKM@DUQ.EDU WITH YOUR HAIR COLOR AND MEASUREMENTS SO THEY CAN CAST APPROPRIATELY.
If you have more questions about the event or Gemini in general, contact Jill Jeffrey at jjeffrey@geminitheater.org
If dressing up doesn't sound like your kind of thing, we'll also need people to help set up from noon to 5:30.
IMPOTANT: SET CHAIR NEEDED
We still have an open spot for anyone who would like to be Set Chair for this school year.
Set Chairs duties include:
- Attending weekend crew sessions where you will lead the group in the construction of our set
- Making sure people know when crews are happening either by recruiting people on your own or contacting the secretary so an e-mail can be sent out
- Attend production meetings during the rehearsal period of the show
- Stay in contact with the director and set designer to stay up to date about what needs to be done
- Keeping the wood loft, flat loft, and tool storage areas as organized as possible
You do NOT have to design the set yourself, you are just responsible for implementing the design you have been given.
Prior experience is NOT necessary, but a plus. You should know how to use power tools, though.

Internship Available
Masquer Alum Looking to Hire an Intern!
I'm hiring a college aged intern and didn't know if you knew any masquer who would fit the bill. It's a paid internship for my company, Penn Avenue Eyewear (located on North Shore in Cardello building - accessible by T). Like minimum wage-ish pay, but still paid. I'd be looking for someone who is ideally a comm, english, or graphic design major, with classes that would allow for working 4+ hours at a time 9-5. Their title would be creative/marketing intern. They'd be doing social media, blog writing, and a bit of grunt work. Please pass along and have them email me at caitlin@pennavenueeyewear.com if you know anyone.
