Opportunities For All

Several weeks ago, you received a call for participation from Teresa Eyring regarding World Theatre Day.
 
As TCG celebrates its own 50th Anniversary, we have identified many ways for staff of TCG University Affiliates <http://www.tcg.org/about/membership/university_list.cfm> , theatre educators, students, and the theatre field to join our global theatre community in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of World Theatre Day <http://www.tcg.org/international/events/wtd.cfm> —here are just a few ways for you and your students to participate:
 

• Encourage theatre-makers younger than 30 or those currently enrolled in an educational institution or training program to participate in our Generation Without Borders <http://www.tcg.org/international/essay.cfm>  essay contest. Selected entries will be shared on TCG’s website, and some will be published in American Theatre magazine. Extended submission deadline: March 9, 2012.
• Join the U.S. and international theatre community by participating in the SHINSAI: THEATERS FOR JAPAN <http://www.tcg.org/shinsai/>  event on March 11, 2012 to support relief efforts for the Japanese theatre community affected by the devastating 2011 earthquake.  It is not too late for your university or theatre to join over 61 participating organizations <http://www.tcg.org/shinsai/participating_theatres.cfm>  who are organizing events for this international effort!

AM THEATRE video campaign within your class and ask your students to submit their own video by sharing a pivotal moment in their life as a theatre artist and audience member—and have you shared your story?

Also, last week, TCG announced that award-winning actor, director and producer, John Malkovich, will write this year's international speech for World Theatre Day, which will be released in March.
